Nipper: 2009 In Review
2009 was a great year for Nipper with some important milestones having been met. The original Nipper release included support for Juniper NetScreen Firewalls and Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewalls with a basic HTML report.
After years of development, testing, feature enhancements and public beta releases Nipper 1.0 was released in 2009.

Interest in the new version of Nipper was huge and it was used by many large corporate companies and market sectors including mobile phone providers, financial institutions and banks, government departments and IT solution/software companies. 2009 also saw the launch of Titania Ltd as the “home” of Nipper, complete with a brand new website for the software at www.titania.co.uk.
Nipper 1.1 was released at the end of 2009 and features include:
- Support for 46 devices
- Completely new software vulnerability analysis and reporting code
- Improvements to features and cosmetic enhancements
Development of Nipper continued during the end of 2009 on version 2 of Nipper which is set for release during Q3 in 2010. There will be maintenance releases of version 1.1 of the software available before the release of version 2 and also “feature betas” for commercial and OEM licence holders so if a new feature is added to Nipper the updated software will be automatically available for download and use.
